Hoka Clifton Pro Review: Settling into a rhythm with the HOKA Clifton Pro.
I've always believed the best way to judge a running shoe is by getting some real miles in it, so I was excited to lace up the HOKA Clifton Pro and see where it fitted into my training.
As someone who runs everything from easy recovery miles to marathon training, I need a shoe that feels comfortable, dependable and capable of handling a variety of sessions.
The Clifton Pro certainly looked the part, but what stood out most to me was how different it felt from what I expected.

Comfort & Fit
Straight away, the upper felt comfortable. It wraps around the foot nicely without creating any pressure points, and I had plenty of room through the forefoot without ever feeling like my foot was moving around inside the shoe.
The lockdown around the midfoot felt secure, giving me confidence through corners and when changing pace slightly.
One thing I really noticed was the stability. Even with a high stack, the Clifton Pro feels planted, which is something I always appreciate on longer runs when fatigue starts to creep in.
It's supportive without feeling intrusive, making it a shoe you can happily forget about once you're running.
Who Is It For?
For me, this is a true daily trainer. It's the shoe I'd happily lace up for easy runs, steady mileage and longer aerobic efforts where comfort and consistency are the priority.
I also think it'd be a great option for runners building confidence or increasing their weekly mileage, thanks to the stable platform and forgiving ride.
If you're looking for a shoe that feels incredibly soft from the very first step, this might not be exactly what you're expecting. The Clifton Pro feels a little more structured than that, but I think it definitely rewards patience.
Final Verdict
The Clifton Pro isn't a shoe that tries to impress you within the first mile, and I actually quite like that.
Instead, it's a shoe that grows on you. The more time I spent running in it, the more I appreciated the smooth transition, stable platform and dependable ride. It encourages you to settle into your pace and simply enjoy running, which is exactly what most daily trainers should do.
For me, the biggest takeaway is that this isn't about instant wow factor. It's about consistency. It's comfortable, confidence-inspiring and feels like a trainer that's built to handle plenty of miles.
I'll definitely be keeping it in my rotation, and I have a feeling it will only get better as the shoe continues to break in.
